VARIETY LIMITS PER HOUSEHOLD: There are limits placed on certain varieties in order to help get some of the highly sought after varieties into more hands and more gardens so that they can be enjoyed by everyone. These limits are PER HOUSEHOLD and in the event you purchase over the limit, your order will be canceled you will be refunded.

SUBSTITUTIONS: In the event a variety is lost during storage prior to shipping, you will be notified via email at the address provided at checkout and refunded to the original method of payment. We do not do substitutions.

DAHLIA VIRUS: We take the health of our stock seriously and do everything within our power to keep a healthy field. We are the only people working with and handling our plants. Tools are meticulously sanitized between plants during harvesting, dividing and storage. We aggressively cull any suspicious plants and utilize a strict natural pest control program. We do not use pesticides, herbicides or chemical fungicides in our field. That being said, given the prevalence of virus, we cannot guarantee with certainty that there is no dormant virus within a tuber. We only send stock from mother plants that appear healthy in our field and are in the condition that we in turn would hope to receive ourselves. There are also many growth-related factors which can affect the appearance of plants including imbalances in nutrition, stress and poor growing conditions. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out or visit The American Dahlia Society for more information on dahlias and virus.

FAQs

When will I receive my tuber order?

Tuber orders begin shipping in early to mid April once the forecast is clear of freezing temperatures. Please keep in mind we are located in Vermont, USA (Zone 5a) and our forecast has to be free of frost as well before we begin shipping.

Do you provide growing instructions?

Yes! A growing guide will be included in your order which will cover what to do when you receive your tubers as well as planting, care and storage tips. The American Dahlia Society is a wonderful resource as well.

Are items in my cart reserved?

Items placed in your cart are not reserved. Your order is only confirmed once you have checked out and receive an order confirmation email. Some varieties sell out in a matter of minutes, so please be aware that if you are trying to checkout with multiple items, some may sell out in your cart before you are able to checkout. To have the best experience, we recommend making an account prior to the sale and being ready at the time that the sale opens.

Why are there limits on certain varieties?

We place limits per household on certain varieties in order to allow for more people to have the opportunity to grow them. We believe everyone should have equal access and if you purchase over the limit or we find that bots were used in order to purchase our product we reserve the right to cancel and refund your order.

Do you ship internationally?

We only ship within the US, including Hawaii and Alaska.

Do you combine shipping?

While we cannot combine orders at this time, we will occasionally send out codes to our email subscribers for combined shipping. If you would like to stay up to date with these offers, you can sign up for our newsletter below. Our goal is to get your tubers into your hands as soon as possible, and shipping each order as they enter our system is the best way for us to do that.

Do you offer early shipping?

Unfortunately we cannot offer early shipping. We work diligently to get orders out as quickly as possible beginning in April as soon as the temperatures are safe to do so.

Are you open to the public?

While we love sharing the joy that dahlias bring, our farm is also our home and we are not open to visitors at this time. We hope to be able to offer some opportunities to visit us in the future and those will be posted on the website and Instagram.

Where do you buy your mother stock?

We only purchase our stock from other small farms here in the US, we do not purchase imported tuber clumps from larger resellers.

What if I have a problem with my order?

Please open and inspect all tuber or live plant orders immediately upon arrival and reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Should you have a concern, please take photographs upon unpackaging and contact us within 7 days of receipt. We guarantee all tubers to be true to variety and have at least one viable eye.

How long have you been shipping live plants and tubers?

While our online storefront is new, we have been safely shipping tubers and live plants through email ordering since 2022. We are honored and humbled by the support and positive feedback we have received over the last two years and are deeply grateful for everyone who has supported us and welcomed our stock into their gardens.
